Our house is the principal building of the ancient fortified village of Nizas. In front of the house is the medieval tower which has been recently restored and stands beside a sunny Mediterranean garden; Most of the house, which is a part of a fortified village (circulard) was built between the 9th and 16th centuries. There is evidence of much earlier building and the area is rich in pre-historic remains.

Ground floor: From the front (village) door you enter the reception area and arched hallway with cloakroom/wc. Ahead is the salon with french windows to the large south facing terrace giving sweeping views of the vineyards. To the right of the hallway there is the stone staircase to the upper floors and a passage leading to a 15th century icehouse, this has been converted to a wine cellar and gives access to the garden.
 

Apartment 1- Two large and well appointed family rooms, each with a private shower or bath plus wc. Each room can accommodate up to four people. The rooms are equipped with a double bed plus a sofa-bed as standard but we can supply extra single or childrens beds if required. There is a large fully equipped kitchen/diner leading to a private and sunny terrace (south facing).

Apartment 2- Two large and well equipped family rooms each with en-suite shower and wc. There is a fully equipped kitchen leading to the upper terrace (again south facing). Each bedroom has a double bed plus a sofa-bed as standard. Other arrangements can be made to suit your requirements (extra single beds, cots etc.)
 

All the rooms are well insulated both from the heat of the summer (we have found air conditioning unnecessary with walls up to 10 feet thick and from the cooler but mild winter.) Central heating is provided in winter. This is a happy family home; Your English speaking hosts, Carole and Tony (a photographer), live next door with their young family and are on hand for any help or advice, babysitting etc.

Location: Nearest international airport Montpellier; 40 minutes.
Nearest Large Shopping towns: Pezenas 5 min., Beziers, 20 min.
Agde on the Mediterranean is 20 min. South and Sete 25 min.
To the North is Lodeve, 30 min., which is the gateway to the only pass to the mountains to Paris.
5 miles from the junctions of the A9 motorway to Spain and A75 to Paris
